De Hoven Passage, Delft
Facts and practical information
De Hoven Passage, usually shopping center In de Hoven, is an indoor shopping center in the city of Delft. The shopping center is located between the Poptahof and the Voorhof in Delft Zuid, along the Martinus Nijhofflaan. The mall has about 60 stores.
The first stores came there around 1970, from the center of Delft behind the then new Poptahof, on the corner of Papsouwselaan and Martinus Nijhofflaan, in the area where a few years later, in 1975, the office tower Torenhove was built. Among other things, a De Gruyter store was then built, but it has not been there for a long time. The shopping center was expanded over time and a major renovation was completed in 2002. Torenhove is adjacent to De Hoven Passage.
The stores of De Hoven Passage and the building across Martinus Nijhofflaan, which was not or is not counted as part of De Hoven Passage, did not have a floor apart from a parking deck. The whole area changed dramatically in 2017 and 2018, when flats were built on both sides of Martinus Nijhofflaan. The Hoven Passage was spared in the process. Torenhove became a residential tower and changed its name to Delft Hoog in 2020.
Streetcar line 1 runs through Martinus Nijhofflaan with a stop there and at Papsouwselaan.
