Stellingmolen Nieuw Leven, Oss
Facts and practical information
The mill Nieuw Leven is a windmill on the Nieuwe Brouwerstraat in the Dutch town of Oss. It is a round stone stilt mill that is furnished as a corn mill. In 1938, the then owner painted the mill white, after which the mill was nicknamed "The White Mill". In 1959, the mill came into the possession of the Philips company, which had a branch office in the vicinity. The company had the "Philips Mill", as it was soon called, converted into a reception area for guests. Incidentally, the interior was largely preserved and "fitted in" to the new function.
In 1975, the municipality of Oss bought the mill to have it restored. This lasted from 1984 to 1993.
The sails are old Dutch. In the mill there are two grinding stones. The mill is open to the public on Saturdays.
