Facts and practical information
The Lapjesmarkt in Utrecht is a textile and haberdashery market.
The market is held in the Breedstraat on every Saturday from 08:00 to 13:00. During the corona crisis in 2021, the cloth market was cancelled, while other Utrecht markets continued.
The Utrecht cloth market in the Breedstraat is mentioned as early as the 16th century, and on May 5, 1597, the municipality gave permission to the linen weavers' guild to hold a linen market here twice a year. In the 17th and 18th centuries there was most likely no longer a market.
