Hunebed D3 is located on the Steenakkers on the Schutsweg south of Midlaren in the Dutch province of Drenthe. Hunebed D3 lies - seen from the road - behind its 'twin brother' and is therefore even more hidden from view. Together with hunebed D4, this hunebed is called the "Hunenborg".

The hunebed lies together with D4 somewhat hidden between two old farmhouses just outside the village of Midlaren. They are overgrown with lichens.
