De Duif, Nunspeet
Facts and practical information
De Duif is a corn mill in Nunspeet in the Dutch province of Gelderland.
The mill was built in 1886 on the site where a previous mill had burned down. This predecessor was also a successor to a burned down standerd mill. The present belt mill was restored in 1963 and 1982.
The mill's rods have a length of 23 meters and are equipped with the Old Dutch sails. The equipment consists of one pair of grinding stones. The former owner runs the mill weekly on a voluntary basis. In 1999, the miller sold the mill to another private owner.
Each year various activities take place around the mill such as Midwinter Siberian Walk, Spring Market, Trunk Sale, Pumpkin Market, National Monument Day, and on the 1st Saturday of October a Farmers' Country Day.
