Dorpskerk, Wassenaar
Facts and practical information
The village church in Wassenaar in the Dutch province of South Holland dates partly from the early 12th century.
The church is located on the Village Square next to the Bailiff's House from about 1745, behind which lies the Bailiff's Forest with winding paths from the late 18th century.
The north facade of the church still shows traces of the original small church built in tuff from about 1100. The rest of the church is from about 1450. After a renovation and expansion of the church, two stained glass windows were donated: the Mother Window by J.H.E. Schilling and The Angel's Song by Henri van der Stok.
The organ is by Albertus Antoni Hinsz and Van Dam.
The building is owned by the PKN congregation of Wassenaar and is used for church services on Sundays and Christian holidays. The church can be visited during the Open Monument Days.
