Lekki Conservation Centre, Lagos

Lekki Conservation Centre stands as a beacon of nature within the bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria. This urban oasis sprawls over 78 hectares and serves as a sanctuary for a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. Established in 1990 by the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), its aim is to preserve the unique wildlife and wetlands of the Lekki Peninsula.

The park is renowned for its impressive canopy walkway, which is one of the longest in Africa. Suspended at 22.5 meters above the ground, the walkway stretches 401 meters, offering visitors an exhilarating perspective of the park's lush vegetation and the wildlife that inhabits it. The walkway ends at a tower that provides panoramic views of the conservation area and the city skyline.

In addition to the canopy walk, Lekki Conservation Centre features nature trails that meander through the reserve, picnic areas where visitors can relax, and a tree house to appreciate the serene environment from a different vantage point. The park is also home to a variety of species, including monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, and various birds, making it a prime spot for wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers.
