Safety and Security Tips
Road safety
Transportation is usually provided by local tour representatives or authorities. Travel within North Korea is severely restricted. Major highways are in good condition while rural roads can be hazardous. Police checkpoints, usually located at the entry to towns, may require that travellers provide documentation before onward travel is permitted.
Women's safety
Due to lack of information about North korea women should be vigilant all the time and aware of the surroundings. Avoid dark or non-tourist areas at night. Instead try to be around larger crowds, whether they are fellow tourists or local citizens. Females should be cautious while dealing with strangers and acquaintances. Women may be subject to unpleasant male attention, sexual harassment and verbal abuse. Avoid flash of money or valuables in public. Exercise a high degree of caution during travel.
Crime
The crime rate is low. Petty crime occurs, especially at the Pyongyang Sunan International Airport. Ensure your personal belongings and passports and other travel documents are secure at all times.

Local Law and Culture
Culture
Ensure that you are not seen to be critical of the country's political system or its current and former leaders Kim Jong-un, Kim Jong-il and Kim il-Sung and their family members.
LGBT
The laws of North Korea do not prohibit sexual acts between individuals of the same sex. Although there's no specific legislation outlawing homosexuality in North Korea, same-sex relationships are considered unacceptable by the authorities.
Driving
If you reside in the country, you must obtain a licence by passing a local driving test. Tourists are not permitted to drive.

The source of the infection may include dirty water, raw fruits, vegetables, dairy products, as well as dirt containing bacteria.
