The telegraph or telegraph shopping center is located in Starvhusgaten 4 in Bergen. The building is centrally located with the main facade facing the Terminal, the City Park, the Music Pavilion and Code 1. The building was designed after the Bergen fire in 1916 by Finn Berner and Anton Kielland, brother of the more famous architect Jens Zetlitz Monrad Kielland, and was completed in 1927. The building Originally contained the National Telegraph and Telephone.
Today, the ground floor has been rebuilt to the Telegraph shopping center. The top three floors contain offices, the Competition Authority is among the tenants. The building's facades are characterized by clinker -burnt bricks with black joints and white marching detailing in windows, doors and cornice. For this neoclassical splendor, architects received the Houen's Fond's diploma in 1929. The telegraph building is today protected by the National Antiquarian.
