Malam Jabba ski resort
Facts and practical information
Malam Jabba Ski Resort, nestled in the Hindu Kush range of the Swat Valley in Pakistan, is the country's premier destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Standing at an altitude of over 2,500 meters, this ski area offers picturesque panoramic views and a range of slopes suitable for both beginner and advanced skiers.
Established with the assistance of the Austrian government in the late 20th century, Malam Jabba is not only a haven for skiers but also a historical site, with ancient Buddhist stupas and monasteries dotted around the area. The resort boasts about 270 acres of ski terrain, a 800-meter-long ski slope, and facilities for snowboarding and tobogganing.
After being affected by regional conflict in the early 2000s, the resort underwent a significant renovation and has since reclaimed its status as a top-tier winter sports location. It now features modern amenities, including a chair lift, ice-skating rinks, and luxury hotel accommodations, catering to both local and international tourists.
