Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Sosnowiec - a parish of the Polish Catholic Church in Poland, located in the Silesian Decanate of Krakow-Czestochowa Diocese. To the parish belong Polish Catholics from the whole area of the Upper Silesian Industrial Area. Masses are celebrated on Sundays at 9:00 and 10:30 am.
The Polish-Catholic parish of Our Lady of Sorrows in Sosnowiec was erected in 1979 on the initiative of Father Eugeniusz Stelmach, who since the mid-1960s had been carrying out his missionary work among the inhabitants of the Upper Silesian Industrial Region from the nearby parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Strzyżowice.
In the years 1996-2001 there was also a separate outpost of the Polish Catholic Church in nearby Katowice. Initially as a branch of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Strzyżowice, then as a separate parish of the Presentation of Jesus Christ in Katowice, whose pastor was Rev. Jaroslaw Nowak - currently working for the Polish National Catholic Church in the USA and Canada. The office was located in a chapel on the grounds of Resurrection Lutheran Parish.
