Pomnik ułana z dziewczyną, Grudziądz

The statue of a lancer with a girl in Grudziadz - also called "Lancer and Girl", is a sculpture in the Old Town, unveiled on the crown of the wall of the stairs leading from Spichrzowa Street to Błonia Nadwiślańskie, at the junction with Ratuszowa Street, in the immediate vicinity of the town hall, the parish church and the historic granaries.

In 2007 the Social Organizing Committee for the Construction of the Lancer's Monument was formed to commemorate the activities of the pre-war Cavalry Training Center in Grudziadz. A light form of outdoor sculpture was chosen by local artist Ryszard Kaczor. It was made of bronze in Andrzej Mączewski's foundry, in a realistic convention, and the meaning of the two-person composition is explained by the fragment of general Bolesław Wieniawa-Długoszowski's poem, placed below: For a lancer's heart, when you put it on your hand: In first place the maiden, before the maiden only.. the horse.

The ceremonial unveiling took place on 23 August 2008, during the 20th Jubilee Meeting of Cavalrymen of the Second Republic of Poland, organized by the Foundation for the Polish Cavalry Tradition in Grudziadz and the Land Forces Command, under the honorary patronage of the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński. The unveiling was performed by Colonel Antoni Ławrynowicz and Justyna Signerska.

The memorial is located where the Germans placed a wooden statue of Chancellor Bismarck in Teutonic garb during World War I and World War II.
