Kościół Matki Bożej Anielskiej, Łódź
Facts and practical information
Church of Our Lady of the Angels - a temple that existed between 1908 and 2009 in the Górna district, at the corner of Rzgowska and Ignacego Krasickiego Streets. It was a meeting and prayer place of the Roman Catholic parish of Our Lady of the Angels.
It was originally a Baptist church, built in 1908 by the Lodz Baptist Association. It was a brick, non-stylish building with a barrel vaulted ceiling. It was consecrated for Catholic worship by Father Felicjan Szustak on August 2, 1945. In 2008 the parish decided to replace the church building with a new, more spacious edifice. A brick chapel was built on the square next to the church. On April 15, 2009, the over 100-year-old church building was demolished.
The church furnishings included three wooden altars, an organ, and a Stations of the Cross.
Near the church, at 2a Krasickiego Street, is the monastery of the Order of Friars Minor.
