John Paul II Square in Wadowice - a square located in the center of the town of Wadowice, popularly known as the market square.
It was laid out as a square after the incorporation of the town under German Chelmno Law in 1430. After the fire of 1819 the line of the eastern wall of the square was changed. After the fire of 1819, the eastern wall of the square was changed. Probably, a town hall once stood on the square. The oldest buildings built around the square are from the 19th century. They stand at the western and eastern walls. On the northern wall of the square there is a magistrate's building from the first half of the 19th century.
The square features a monument to Pope John Paul II erected in 2006. In 2012, after more than two years of renovation, John Paul II Square gained a new granite surface and elements of small architecture, including a fountain and a well. Vehicular traffic was heavily restricted.
