Kościół Wniebowzięcia NMP i św. Antoniego, Gniezno

Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Anthony in Gniezno - inhabited by Conventual Franciscan friars of the Gdansk Province. It is also the parish church of the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gniezno, belonging to Gniezno Decanate I of the Gniezno Archdiocese.

An early Gothic church, founded by Přemysl II in about 1270, with a two-nave tower from the 15th century, rebuilt in the 18th century and in the 20th century. At present, it has baroque decor. Rococo benches from 1760-1770, Rococo stalls from 1767. In the main Baroque altar there is a painting of Our Lady of Consolation - the Lady of Gniezno from the first quarter of the 17th century. From the south a chapel was added to the nave in the fourth quarter of the eighteenth century. On the northern side of the nave, the former oratory of the Poor Clares, originally Gothic, rebuilt after the fire of 1613. The cross-ribbed vault of the presbytery from the 13th century, a similar vault in the nave, reconstructed. The ogival windows with masvets, mostly reconstructed. It is located in Franciszkańska Street, on the Maiden Hill. Inside is the miraculous image of Our Lady of Consolation, crowned by John Paul II during his papal pilgrimage to Poland in 1997, and relics of Blessed Jolanta, thanks to whom the Poor Clares convent was built nearby. The parish church since 1925.
