National Memorial at Dalki - a national memorial located in the western part of Gniezno, at Dalki, in the park of the People's University.
On November 8-11 the Gestapo murdered 24 Poles from Gniezno, Kłeck, Drachów, Owieczek, Gębarzewo and Przysieka at the rear of the People's University. These events are commemorated by: a wooden cross, a monument made of field boulders, a stele and a memorial stone. The stele bears the names of all the murdered, along with their birth and death dates. On the boulder there is a plaque commemorating Father Antoni Ludwiczak, founder of the Folk University in Dalki, murdered on 17 June 1942 in the Dachau concentration camp. The inscription on the memorial says: The place where 24 Poles were murdered by the Nazis in November 1939.
In 1945 the bodies were exhumed and moved to the mass grave of Nazi victims in the cemetery in Witkowska St.
