Fontanna Neptuna, Poznań
Facts and practical information
Neptune's Fountain - one of four fountains in the Old Market Square in Poznań, standing on its southwest side at the mouth of Paderewskiego Street and Szkolna Street. The fountain was designed by Marcin Sobczak. It was unveiled in 2004.
This fountain, like the Apollo Fountain and the Mars Fountain, was created in place of the former wells, standing in the market since the seventeenth century. Of the original four, only the Proserpine fountain has survived to the present day. The remaining three - including the Neptune fountain - are reconstructions, created at the beginning of the 21st century.
