Release of Andromeda by Perseus - sculptural group located in the central part of Wilson Park in Poznań, in front of the Poznań Palm House building. It depicts a scene from Greek mythology: Perseus rescuing Andromeda from the captivity of Ketos.
The author of the bronze sculpture was Johannes Pfuhl - professor of the Academy of Art in Berlin. Originally it was placed in Cyril Ratajski Square, where it was a part of the monument with a fountain, dedicated to the visit of Empress Victoria in 1888. It was moved to Wilson Park after World War II. Here it serves as a visual keystone for the French garden with benches all around.
