Kieleckie Centrum Kultury - one of the most important cultural institutions of Kielce and the Świętokrzyskie province. The building, located on Moniuszki Square, has 15,500 m2 of floor space.
For many years, the institution has been carrying out a wide range of activities promoting culture and art within the regional, national and international framework. The Kielce Cultural Centre organizes: International Festival of Organ and Sacred Music ANIMA MUNDI, International Competition for Fashion Designers and Enthusiasts OFF FASHION, MEMORIAL TO MILES Targi Kielce Jazz Festival, National Independent Festival of Documentary Forms NURT, National Photography Competition LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL and the project Insomnia Salon - authors' meetings with interesting personalities of the world.
Subordinate units of the institution are creative organizations such as: WINDA Contemporary Art Gallery, STUDIO Authors' Stage and PEGAZ alternative theater.
The building has conference rooms, galleries, small and large foyers, lobbies, art studios and guest rooms. It also houses the Kielce Branch of Polish Television and the Kielce Dance Theatre.
The Kielce Cultural Center has two stages: The big stage, which is also one of the three biggest in Poland, has an area of 520 m2 and is equipped with two rotating stages with diameters of 15 m and 5.5 m, respectively, and 3 curtains: a decorative one, a damping one and a steel one weighing 8.5 tons. The technical ceiling reaches up to 30 meters above the stage level, and underneath it there is an 8-meter-deep underground section housing all the technical apparatus. The moat for the orchestra can accommodate 60 musicians. Performances can be enjoyed from the 720-seat panoramic fan auditorium, which provides excellent visibility and uniform acoustic conditions. The small stage, originally intended for experimental performances, has an adjustable surface and is surrounded on three sides by a 190-seat auditorium. This provides ample staging opportunities for the presentation of plays, concerts and other events.
Near the Kielce Cultural Center there is a red city trail leading through historic and interesting places in Kielce.
The building of the Kielce Cultural Center was modeled on the plans of the Musical Theater in Gdynia. The construction was planned to be finished after 5 years, in 1980, however, part "C" was completed in 1992 and finally the construction was finished only in 2002.
