Facts and practical information
Kamiennik - a mountain peak located in the western part of the Karkonosze Mountains, on the state border with the Czech Republic. Below the summit, at 1293.7 is a measuring point, which caused that in guidebooks and on many maps the summit was assigned a rounded height of 1294.
The peak is located in the western part of the Silesian Ridge, between Szrenica in the east and Mumlava Peak in the west. It is built of Karkonosze granite. The top and the surrounding area are covered with dwarf pine. In the lower parts there are spruce forests of the upper mountain range. The northern slopes are marshy, with numerous hanging peat bogs - wiszarami, which are fed by water from numerous springs.
The state border between Poland and the Czech Republic passes through the peak. It lies within the Krkonoše National Park and the Czech Krkonoše National Park.
On the north-eastern slope of Kamiennik there was WOP watchtower. Nowadays you can use the accommodation. There is no buffet here.
