Facts and practical information

Church of St. John the Baptist in Kiszkowo - a wooden temple in Kiszkowo, Gniezno County, dating from 1733, with Baroque interior furnishings from the 18th century. and a carved Pietà from the 17th century.

The first records about the Kiszków church come from 1398. The present temple was built on the initiative of parish priest Jan Wypijewski and consecrated in 1749 by bishop Teodor Potocki. A brick burial chapel from 1695, founded by Lukasz Niemojewski, adjoins the church from the south. For many years the chapel was a Marian sanctuary, as Niemojewski erected the chapel as a votive offering for a healing through the medium of this image. An 18th century Pietà comes from the earlier church.
