The synagogue was built in 1927 on the site of an older wooden synagogue. During World War II, in 1941, the Nazis devastated the synagogue. After the end of the war, for many years the main prayer hall housed a cinema and the kahal hall a library. Currently, the building remains abandoned, falling into ruins.
The brick, non-plastered synagogue building was erected on a rectangular plan. The entire building is covered with a tin roof. Numerous decorations, including the Star of David, the date of construction of the synagogue and a cornice, have survived on the facades.
