Facts and practical information
Holy Trinity Church in Iwanowice - a wooden temple in Iwanowice Włościańskie in Małopolska province, in Kielce diocese. It is one of the monuments on the trail of wooden architecture of Malopolska province.
It is located in the center of the village, on a small hill. It was built in 1745 on the basis of a Gothic temple from 1408, in which in the 16th century Polish friars were active. In 1557 the Synod of Piotrków was held. Recatholicization of the village took place after the Dłuski family, the owners of Ivanovice, converted to Catholicism. At that time, the church, which had been converted into a church, was consecrated again in 1624, after renovation.
The present church was founded by August Aleksander Czartoryski, the heir of Ivanovice.
Holy Trinity Church is built as a log structure with vertically boarded walls with battening and a steep roof covered with sheet metal. It has two towers of pole-frame construction. Gables are topped with domed helmets with apparent lanterns, and between them is a porch. A brick sacristy, formerly used as a treasury, and the chapel of St. Anne Alone, which was originally a sacristy, were added to the presbytery.
Inside there are apparent vaults. Above the entrance to the sacristy there is a sharp-arched Gothic portal, which was part of another church.
In the church there are three antique Gothic sculptures: St. Christopher from the years 1480-1490 from the workshop of Veit Stoss, the Risen Christ from the first half of the sixteenth century and the sculpture of the Virgin Mary with Child from the sixteenth century. On the side altar there is a Gothic painting of the Virgin Mary with Child uncovered in 1973 during restoration works, and on the main altar there is a work called Adoration of the Holy Trinity. In the main altar there is a late Gothic crucifix from the first half of the 16th century.
The temple was renovated several times, including in the 19th century and in the 1970s.
The object was entered in the register of immovable monuments of the Malopolska province.
