Rezerwat Skarpa Dobrska
Facts and practical information
Skarpa Dobrska - a landscape nature reserve located in the municipality of Wilków, in Opole County, Lubelskie Province. It lies within the Kazimierski Landscape Park.
physical and geographic location: Małopolski Przełom Wisły or Kotlina Chodelska, area : 39.70 ha, year of establishment: 1991, establishment document: Order of the Minister of Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry of 8 July 1991 on recognition as a nature reserve. Object of protection : preservation of natural expositions of quaternary rocks and xerothermic grasslands with rare plant species.
The reserve is located between the villages of Dobre and Podgórze. The relative height of the slope increases from east to west, reaching 85 m near Podgórze. There are 19 species of protected plants in the reserve, among others.: The reserve contains 19 protected plant species, e.g.: spring sweet wood-fern, wood anemone, common columbine, dwarf cherry, common thistle, common marsh foxtail, Daphne mezereum, Scorzonera purpurea, Stipa capillata, Tofieldia calyculata, Linosyris vulgaris, Polypodium vulgare, and Hedera helix. Noteworthy is also a rich lichen flora.
As far as fauna is concerned, there are about 1,200 species representing 48 families of butterflies, with the particularly endangered Orion's Fly being on the Red List of threatened and endangered animals in Poland.
The reserve does not have a protection plan, however, there are protection tasks in force, according to which the area of the reserve is subject to active protection.
