The Bernardine Monastery in Dukla was founded in 1741. It was founded by the town owner Józef Wandalin Mniszech. The monastery and church are the main place of worship for St. John of Dukla, a saintly Bernardine monk from the 15th century. Since 2009 the church has enjoyed the status of a sanctuary with diocesan rights.
