Facts and practical information

The Jewish cemetery in Łaszczów - kirkut is located on Chopina Street, west of the market square. It was established in the middle of the 18th century. During World War II it was completely destroyed by Nazis. Matzevot were used by them to pave roads and squares. Tombstones that survived were stolen by local people. After 1945 on the area of the cemetery there was built a clinic for animals. There is only one matzeva left, dated back to 1824 or 1828. In 1990 a monument was unveiled, commemorating the Jews from Laszczów, murdered by the Nazis.
