Holy Trinity Church - Greek Catholic parish church in Braniewo.
The church is located in the former late Gothic church built in 1437, rebuilt and reconstructed in 1583-1584 and in the 17th and 18th centuries. In 1945 the church was seriously damaged, rebuilt in 1951. It is located on Tadeusza Kosciuszko Street.
It is a hall church, five-axial, set on a rectangle with a trilateral closure from the east, built in the early sixteenth century. The sacristy, lower and square, is situated on the eastern side, and the porch is situated on the northern side. The main altar was late Baroque, came from the workshop of John Frey with a painting of the Holy Trinity and statues of St. Augustine and St. Ambrose, a Rococo Pieta from 1773 and a sculpture of Christ from the sixteenth century.
Since 1992 the church has been serving the Greek Catholic faithful. Since November 1, 2016, due to the poor technical condition of the front wall, threatening to collapse, the temple was closed by the construction supervision, as dangerous cracks appeared on the front wall. In 2017, repair works were carried out in the temple, among others, the cracks were fastened with special clamps and cavities in the wall were filled. The cost of repairs amounted to 157 thousand zlotys. The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage awarded a grant of 100 thousand zlotys, the remaining money was obtained from the local government of Braniewo municipality, private individuals and companies.
The parish has a population of 300 believers.
