Facts and practical information
Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph in Sobótka is a Roman Catholic parish church in the village of Sobótka, in Ostrów Wielkopolski municipality, Ostrów Wielkopolski county, Greater Poland province. It belongs to Gołuchów deanery.
The temple was probably built at the end of the 13th century and has a Wendish brick layout. Rebuilt in the years 1783-1790, the building is built on a Latin cross plan, with a single nave. A characteristic element is an early Gothic pointed triple arched portal made of profiled and glazed brick, located at the northern elevation. The main altar with the picture of Our Lady was made in 1880 and represents the Neo-Baroque style. The other four altars located in the side aisles - depicting St. Joseph, St. Nicholas, St. Anne and the Holy Cross - represent the Renaissance style. Next to the presbytery there is a baroque pulpit made in 1797. The baptismal font was made of black marble in 1675.
