Facts and practical information
Church of Saint Apostles Peter and Paul - Roman Catholic church, located in the center of Freedom Square in Szamocin. It has classical and neo-Romanesque features.
The building was constructed in the years 1827-1835, primarily for Protestant weavers from Germany, who at that time settled in large numbers in the town. The church was extended in the years 1879-1902, and in 1902 the monumental towers were completed, which give the façade its distinct look. After 1945 the building was taken over by Catholics. Since 1989 it has been in possession of the parish of Our Lady Help of Christians.
The church is brick, plastered, on a foundation of broken granite, and decorated with stained glass windows. It represents one of the oldest buildings in town.
