Monument to the 1000th anniversary in Sanok - a monument in Sanok, located on Gregory of Sanok Street, next to the Ramerówka building in a small square.
The inscription on the monument reads "One thousand years of the Polish state. Eight hundred years of Sanok 1960". Between the lines there is a Polish eagle without a crown.
Originally in 1950 the town authorities decided to organize celebrations of the 800th anniversary of Sanok. The Committee of the celebrations was appointed. After 10 years the actual celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the town took place in connection with the 1000th anniversary of Polish Statehood. At that time Jan Swierzowicz became the head of the committee.
The main celebrations took place on 24 April 1960 and on that day the monument was officially unveiled.
The stone used for the monument was donated by Zofia Skołozdro, principal of the Female Senior High School. During World War II it was used as a table top for candy molding in the factory, which was a place of underground contacts. The monument was designed by Kazimierz Florek and Edmund Królicki and constructed by Stanisław Jan Piątkiewicz.
