The Church of Santa Cantarina is a Portuguese Christian religious temple located in the parish of Castelo Branco, in the municipality of Horta, on the island of Faial in the Azores archipelago.
This temple that since its construction in 1767 was dedicated to the evocation of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, is the parish church of the parish of Castelo Branco. It is not the first temple of the locality, since this first temple dated from the XVI Century, eventually 1500, since on July 10, 1514 King D. Manuel I of Portugal makes an order of offering with ornaments for this temple.
This church is a large building, divided into three naves over five columns. It has a tall facade and a single bell tower.
The festivities of the patron saint of this temple take place on November 25th each year and seek to invoke, through coronations, intelligence and the healing of psychic ills, associated with the image of Saint Catherine.
