Praia do Magoito

Magoito Beach, also known as Pedregal, is a coastal bathing water belonging to the Sintra coast, in the district of Lisbon, Portugal. It is inserted in the Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais, having several natural points of interest. It is a type 3 beach, equipped and of conditioned use, considered of dangerous sea. It has a beach front of 300 m and a reduced width, normally submerged by high tide and rich in iodine. Flanked by large cliffs, its road access is made through the Santa Marta Road, along which there are parking spaces. The beach can be reached either by a staircase to the east of the beach or, alternatively, by the wooden walkway that runs along the valley of the Ribeira da Mata, which guarantees access for the disabled.
Every year, on Good Friday, the beach fills up with dozens of people engaged in mussel picking.
