Sculptural composition "Pervoposelenets" - a monument in the city of Penza, dedicated to the founders and first inhabitants of this city. The monument symbolizes the two beginnings in the fate of the first settlers of Penza in the second half of the XVII century - the defense of the southeastern borders of the Russian state from the raids of steppe nomads and peasant labor.
It is one of the most famous and recognizable symbols of the city, often depicted on local souvenirs and themed products. In 2012, according to the results of a sociological survey dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Penza, 44% of city residents called the monument to the Pervoposelenets "a calling card" of the city.
Installed in the historic part of the city, opposite the remains of the city fortress of the XVII century.
Opened September 8, 1980 to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo.
It is a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
The author of the monument - sculptor Valentin Grigorievich Kozenyuk. The architect is Yu.
Georgy Myasnikov, second secretary of the Penza regional committee of the CPSU in 1961-1964 and 1965-1986, initiated the creation of the monument.
