The Church of Varlaam of Khutynsky was built in 1780 with funds from the merchant Uzdennikov to replace the old stone church in the city of Vologda. It was named in honor of Varlaam Khutynsky, the founder and abbot of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Khutynsky Monastery.
