Golden Gate, Vladimir

The Golden Gate of Vladimir stands as a testament to the medieval might of ancient Rus'. Constructed between 1158 and 1164 under the command of Grand Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky, this iconic city gate was a part of Vladimir's defensive fortifications, which were erected during the prince's ambitious project to transform Vladimir into a political and cultural capital.
