Museum of the history of Borovichi city and Borovichi land, Borovichi

The Museum of the history of Borovichi city and Borovichi land is one of the oldest museums in the Novgorod region of Russia. In 2016, it hosted more than 22,000 visitors. The museum was founded in May 1918 by the County Board of Education. It started as a collection of Zhukovskiy and Gogol. From 1926 to 1927, the museum was closed. In 1928 the museum reopened thanks to S.N. Porshnyakov who became the first director. ()
