Facts and practical information

Sukhanovo is a nobleman's estate of the late 18th and 19th centuries, which was transformed into a striking monument to Russian classicism by the care of Princess E. A. Volkonskaya, daughter of the Catherinean dignitary A. P. Melgunov. His Serene Highness Prince P. Volkonsky declared Sukhanovo an estate - the nucleus of the Volkonsky majorette. Becoming Minister of the Imperial Court in 1826, he attracted major architects of St. Petersburg associated with the imperial court to develop the estate.

The Sukhanovo estate is located near the village of Sukhanovo to the southwest of the city of Vidnoye, Moscow region, on the high bank of the river Gvozdyanka. The estate adjoins a landscape park with artificial ponds. Nearby is the Holy Ekaterininsky Hermitage.
