Kokuy is a four-corner blind tower in the south-western part of the Novgorod citadel, which differs from other towers by its peculiar shape and height. The tower is rectangular in plan and has a base area of 8.5 x 10.4 m. The tower is 38.5 m high with a dome, and the walls are 2 m thick at the first tier. The tower is crowned by a ten-meter tent.
