The Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov State Russian Drama Theater is a republican theater founded in 1904 and located in Grozny. It was founded by such a famous master of Russian theater as Yevgeny Vakhtangov. Leonid Bronyevoi and Innokenty Smoktunovsky, People's Artists of the USSR, Rimma Bykova, Mimalt Soltsayev and Musa Dudayev, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Ruslan Khakishev and other prominent actors later worked in the theater.
