Monastery of the Holy Trinity - an Orthodox male monastery in Zielenc, in the Leningrad region, in the jurisdiction of the Tichwin Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The emergence of the monastery is related to the activities of Saint Monk Martyriusz, who settled on the site, where the monastery was then created and in 1570 he was already the ihumen of the community. In the years 1612–1613, i.e. ten years after the death of the founder, the monastery was burned by the Swedes and was completely destroyed for several decades. The monastery was reactivated in the last decades of the 17th century in the 1880s on the order of the Metropolitan of Nowogrodzki Cornelius, who began the nuns in the monastery in Zieleniec, the monastery was expanded. The Central Council of the Holy Trinity and other masonry buildings were created then.
In 1765 Old Believers attacked the monastery. They occupied his facilities for several weeks, robbed the monastery with valuable icons and books, set fire to buildings and chased away monks. Finally, some of the attackers, the Philippons, decided to commit suicide by self -immolation. The others left the devastated monastery. In 1771, the community was qualified to a group of 3rd class monasteries and transferred to the jurisdiction of the St. Petersburg and Ładoska eparchy. In the years 1815–1834 and again at the beginning of the 20th century the monastery was renovated. At the beginning of the 20th century, the community was owned by 19 277 tithes of the Earth, it had a property of 130,000. rubles and received an annual state subsidy of 669 rubles and 55 kopecks.
After the October Revolution, the monastery was liquidated. His churches were still open until 1932. Then the monastery facilities were intended for other purposes, including an invalid house. In 1979, the use of buildings was also discontinued for secular goals and former monastery buildings were completely abandoned. The ruined complex was returned in 1992 to the Russian Orthodox Church, which reactivated the community. Hieromnich Sergiusz became her first supervisor.
