Church of the icon of the Mother of God "all distressed joy" - an Orthodox church in Moscow, in the Moscow deanery of the Moscow Eparchy of the urban Russian Orthodox Church.
The first information about the church rising on the site of today's temple comes from the 1670s. The second church in the same place was established in 1683–1685 and was called by the Transfiguration. In 1783, the Dolgow merchant financed the reconstruction of the temple. The design of the building was made by Vasily Bażowow, while the icons to the interior of the church, including for the needs of the iconostasis, was written by a monk Bonifacy from the monastery of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Sarów. In 1790, the Moscow metropolitan Plato dedicated the chapel of the icon of the Mother of God "all distressed joy" added to the main block of the building. This image from at least from the 17th century was in the church and there in 1688 it was announced a miracle.
During the Moscow fire in 1812, the church was almost completely destroyed. In the years 1831–1836 it was erected from scratch according to the design of Joseph Bové. In September 1836, the Moscow Filaret metropolitan made her re -sacrifice.
The church operated until 1932, when it was closed by the Soviet authorities. The bells of the temple were also destroyed. Other components of the temple's equipment were saved by employees of the Tretiakowska Gallery. In 1948, the icon of the Mother of God "all distressed joy" was re -opened to worship as one of the first temples closed by the authorities from Moscow.
