Muzej-usadba A. S. Griboedova

Khmelita is the former estate of the noblemen Griboyedov in the village of Khmelita, now a state historical-cultural and natural reserve museum. It is located in Vyazma district of Smolensk region, 37 km northwest of Vyazma, 260 km from Moscow, on both sides of the road Vyazma - Holm-Zhirkovsky.

The total area of the protected territory is 24,633 ha. The museum-reserve, in addition to the remains of the park ensemble, includes the manor house of the XVIII century, built in a rare for provincial manor architecture style of Elizabethan baroque. The author of the design of this architectural monument of federal importance with the characteristic external staircase of that epoch has not been identified. There are wings along the sides of the main house. The Kazan church was built in 1759 in the traditions of the earlier epoch.
