Metropolitan's Tower is a cylindrical tower of the Novgorod citadel, a monument of military-defensive architecture of the 15th century. The tower is round in plan, deaf, diameter 13.6 m, thickness of walls - 3.1 m, height of walls - 16.3 m, rubble foundations are laid on depth of 3.5 m. It was erected in 1484-1499, probably on the old base. Crowning the tower is a ten-meter tent, reconstructed according to descriptions of the XVII century. The walls of the tower, facing the moat, are cut through by three tiers of vaulted loopholes of XV century. Tiers of the tower are divided by wooden platforms, connected by a system of stairs.
