The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Torgus is located in the northern part of Yaroslav's Court in Veliky Novgorod, at the intersection of Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street and Ilyin Street. In close proximity to it is the Church of Paraskeva Friday.

It is a cross-domed, six-cupola, three-apsed temple with one dome. The facades are completed with a four-slope covering, dissected by spades, united by the arches of zakomars. The roof is straight, four-slope. The apses are smooth, semi-circular. The drum is decorated with a runner. The windows are rectangular, situated in niches, most of them have semi-circular endings.
