Climate of San Marino

San Marino lies in a subtropical climate zone of the Mediterranean variety. The weather is influenced by air masses that come in winter from the northern part of Europe, and in summer from the African continent and the Middle East.

During the year, short, cold winters and long, hot summers can be observed. The average temperature in the winter months ranges from -2°C to 10°C, and it is also the rainiest period. Precipitation reaches 800 mm - 900 mm per year, with the highest intensity recorded between November and April. Frosts are common on Monte Titano and it snows. The summer months are dry and hot, with temperatures never dropping below 23°C, usually reaching around 30°C. Rain during this time is generally rare.
