Čičava

Čičava or Čičva is the ruins of the 13th century castle standing on the wooded tip of the Beskydy forest in Podčelko Mernícka Upper, above the village of Sedliská - local part of Podčičva. It is located south from the water reservoir Velka Domaša at an altitude of 205 m above sea level. m. The castle was damaged by the last Rákoci Uprising in 1711 and since then it is a ruin. From the castle hill are far views.
Castle Čičava was declared a cultural monument in 1963.
Since 2014, the reconstruction and rescue of the castle has been carried out by the civic association for Futuro Castle Čičva, which is a member of the interest association Save the castles. The castle area is freely accessible to visitors.
