Sudwala Caves

The Sudwala Caves are a spectacular natural wonder nestled in the Drakensberg escarpment of Mpumalanga, South Africa. These ancient caves are believed to be over 240 million years old, making them the oldest known caves in the world. The caves are renowned for their extraordinary dolomite chambers and the awe-inspiring amphitheater, which is a popular venue for musical concerts due to its exceptional natural acoustics.

For the more adventurous, there is the Crystal Tour, a challenging excursion that takes visitors to the cave's crystal chamber, where sparkling aragonite crystals can be admired. This tour is only available by appointment and requires a degree of physical fitness.
