Paseo del Príncipe de Vergara or also popularly known as Paseo del espolón is the most emblematic square in the city of Logroño in La Rioja, Spain. In addition to having been the physical center of the city for many years, it is currently its financial center.
The square is the scene of the offering of the first grape juice to the Virgin of Valvanera, one of the most important celebrations of the Rioja Grape Harvest Festival. It is adjacent to important historical, financial and administrative buildings, and pedestrian areas such as the Paseo de las Cien Tiendas or even Calle Laurel, famous for its gastronomy.
It has historical monuments such as the Monument to General Espartero, promenades and landscaped areas with a varied and well-kept flora. It also has an underground car park and various infrastructures to host art exhibitions, markets; or concerts thanks to a large building in the form of an auditorium in its eastern area, which houses the central tourist information office of the Government of La Rioja.
