Torre Palacio de los Fernández Villa, Espinosa de los Monteros
Facts and practical information
The Palace of the Fernández-Villa is a Renaissance palace that began to be built in the middle of the 16th century. It is attached to a previous fortress-house. The whole building is organized around two large towers and an inflexion in the central part. The most outstanding element is the western cube, the one attached to the Gothic construction, which opens to the interior with a linteled doorway, flanked by fluted columns, resting on a high podium and topped with a capital, which supports the entablature. Two corbels, in the form of moulded footings, support the lintel in the centre of which is the family coat of arms.
