The park occupies a total area of 24.3 hectares, where are, the Pazo de Castrelos and its historic gardens, a wide variety of green spaces, an auditorium, wooded areas and so on. All fully harmonized as an urban park, it has a great landscape and botanical value, which is why it was declared a Historical Garden and an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1955.
